Adaptations in Windchill

To customize a Windchill® system, it is often necessary to modify files released by PTC®. However, since these files can be updated and thus overwritten by an update or upgrade of PTC®, customized files should be managed so that they cannot be overwritten.

For this purpose, PTC® recommends setting up a safe directory structure for the management of customized files, the so-called Safe Area Directory Structure or wtSafeArea. Further information on this can be found in the official product documentation from PTC®.

To use IFConneX, customized files are stored in this protected directory structure. For further information, see:
